How to

Change the dome

Dome (including Grip Tip) can be used with RITE styles and BTE styles with thin tubes for a comfortable fit in the ear.

Clean the speaker unit on a regular basis. Use the cloth and rub off any earwax. The dome and Grip Tip should not be cleaned. When you need a fresh, clean dome, remove the existing dome and put on a new one. We recommend replacing the dome at least once a month or as directed by your hearing care professional.

Here’s how to do it:

  • 1. Hold on to the speaker/thin tube and then pull off the ear piece.

  • 2. Place the speaker/thin tube exactly in the middle of the earpiece.

  • 3. Push firmly to ensure that the earpiece is fastened securely

About domes

Domes and Grip Tip are pre-sized, disposable earpieces that are placed on the hearing aid’s speaker or thin tube to fit comfortably in the ear. Domes range from open domes to closed power domes. Both domes and Grip Tips are made of a soft rubber material.

We recommend contacting a hearing care professional if you want to purchase extra earpieces, cleaning tools and other accessories.

Important notice!

The dome is made of a soft material. If the dome comes off in the ear canal, it will not cause any harm. If you can, carefully take it out. If necessary, let another person help you. Do not push the dome into the ear canal. Do not push the tube into the ear again before the dome is removed from the ear. If you have any doubts about how to proceed if the dome comes off, contact your hearing care professional.
