Call handling and streaming

  • > If several Bluetooth devices are paired with ConnectClip, which device takes priority?

Whilst ConnectClip can be paired with a maximum of eight devices, it can only be connected to one device at any given time. The last connected device will have priority.

  • > If ConnectClip is paired to several Bluetooth devices, how can I choose which one I want to be connected to?

To connect to a smartphone, open the Bluetooth menu on the phone and select ConnectClip. If you are trying to connect to a device that does not have a Bluetooth menu then turn off the devices you do not want to be connected to - or switch off Bluetooth on the devices you do not want to be connected to.

  • > Can calls be received when using ConnectClip as a remote microphone?

No, you will not be able to receive calls when ConnectClip is used in remote microphone mode. This is because the connection between ConnectClip and the phone is closed. However, you can continue to receive calls directly on your smartphone (even if it has been paired with ConnectClip) – but they will not be streamed to your hearing aids.

  • > Can I stream audio from my mobile phone when ConnectClip is in remote microphone mode?

No. When ConnectClip is in remote microphone mode, there will be no connection to the mobile phone.

  • > Can I stream music from a smartphone through ConnectClip and still receive calls?

Yes, you can receive calls on your smartphone while streaming music via ConnectClip. In this case, the call overrides the music, giving you the option to answer the call or reject it and continue streaming audio.

  • > Can I answer a phone call directly on my smartphone without streaming it through ConnectClip?

Yes, you can. To do this, you need to select the correct audio route in your smartphone settings. For more information on this, check your smartphone’s instruction manual.

  • > What takes priority if my iPhone or Android mobile phone supporting ASHA rings while I am streaming music through ConnectClip from another device?

If your iPhone or ASHA Android phone is paired directly with your hearing aids, the call will interrupt the music streaming from ConnectClip.

  • > Can I change the volume of a streamed signal in remote microphone mode?

Yes. The volume control keys on ConnectClip will adjust the volume levels on both the hearing aids’ microphones and the streamed signal. Alternatively, if you use the Oticon ON app you can adjust the streaming volume and the environment volume separately (in remote microphone mode only).

  • > When I am streaming sound/music, can my hearing aid microphones be muted?

Yes, the hearing aid microphones can be muted when streaming sound. Please refer to the ConnectClip Instructions for Use for more information.

  • > What happens when I stream music and change the volume on ConnectClip?

The volume control keys on ConnectClip will adjust the hearing aid microphones and the streamed signal levels simultaneously.

  • > Can my hearing care professional make any adjustments to the sound I stream from ConnectClip?

Your hearing care professional can make adjustments to the settings in your hearing aids when streaming from ConnectClip (e.g. streaming a call with ConnectClip, using ConnectClip as a remote microphone).
